Choosing WordPress Hosting: 7 Checks
Completing the WordPress installation does not mean that the hosting meets all the needs of your project. Your theme, plugins, and maintenance plan should together determine the choice.
1–2. PHP compatibility and real resource limit
Check the current requirements of WordPress from the official source; Then compare it with the versions supported by your theme and plugins. Being able to select a version on the panel does not mean that every old version is safe or supported.
The PHP memory_limit setting is not the same as the total RAM allocated to the hosting account. PHP processes running simultaneously share the total resource. Consider the overhead when the admin panel, backup plugin, and visitor requests work together.
3–4. Cache and plugin behavior
It uses a blog page cache that shows everyone the same page. Features such as membership, search, product filtering and payment produce more dynamic transactions. When evaluating a hosting package, determine which processes will remain out of cache.
If more than one plugin performs the same optimization, they may disrupt each other. Remove unused plugins; Don't make performance decisions based solely on the number of plugins. A single heavy query can consume more resources than a large number of simple plugins.
5–6. Backup and test environment
The backup must contain the database, uploaded files and necessary configurations. Don't just rely on the "backup taken" message without trying the restore process. Keep a separate copy independent of the hosting account.
Protect the test environment from search engines and unauthorized access. If you use live data, prevent email, payments, and external integrations from accidentally recording real transactions. Writing changes from the test site directly to the live database may delete new content or orders.
7. Migration and growth plan
Leave space on disk for image archive, auto-generated sizes and backup files. Small package can be selected initially; but learn in advance how to make the transition to the higher source. Decide with measurements during peak hours.
WordPress hosting options It is the beginning for standard sites. If you are running a store WooCommerce requirements Also check out. Not changing the theme, domain, and URL structure at the same time as the server change makes debugging easier.
